Our Story
The last 3 decades
Ed Spencer launched his first Business, Ed's TV, selling and servicing TV's in 1977 based out of Telford, PA. alongside his wife, Cyndi. Spencer grew Ed's TV to become a community staple, known for it's legendary customer service, honesty and integrity. As the TV industry began to shift in the late 80's, Ed and Cyndi made the decision to sell the retail sales side of Ed's TV to a business partner so that they could focus on service. The Spencer's launched their second business and named it Spencer Sight and Sound in Montgomery County, PA which developed a reputation for servicing it's customers with honesty and integrity. With a major emphasis on service and customization Spencer Sight and Sound was able to grow as both a service and repair facility and retail center for TV's, Home Theater and other consumer electronics in the Bucks County, PA and Montgomery County, PA areas..
The 21st Century
Jason Spencer (son of Ed and Cyndi) alongside his wife, Julia, launched Adopt a Tech, a computer services firm for homes and small businesses in Montgomery County, PA. Adopt A Tech grew to become the Lansdale area's largest non-box store computer services group and became well known for it's excellent customer service.
The Future is Now
The Spencer family partnered with Adopt A Tech's star employee, Eric Chiang, and based on technology industry trends decided to launch a technology super boutique on Route 309 in Colmar, PA. . The HiTech Life was born - a combination of Home Entertainment expertise and Information Technology, computer and networking expertise. The HiTech Life, still a family owned and operated business through the joint efforts of Ed, Cyndi, Jason and Julia Spencer along with business partner Eric Chiang is now a one stop technology shop where you can experience the legendary customer service reputation that these businesses were founded on.

We are Home Theater and Home Automation Installers and Integrators Serving the Bucks County, Montgomery County and Philadelphia areas including Hatfield, Montgomeryville, Lansdale, Doylestown, Quakertown, Newtown, New Hope, King of Prussia, Ambler, Blue Bell, West Chester, Main Line and more. The HiTech Life is an authorized Piioneer Elite dealer that installs and calibrates their plasma televisions, blu ray players, surround sound receivers, and more. We also represent LG and Samsung and install and provide ISF calibration for their plasma and LCD tvs. Our home theater projector recommendation is Epson. We specialize in Life|Ware home automation and smart home control systems. Life-ware is a windows media center server based software that enables complete home automation including lighting control (using Centralite or Lutron), security control, climate control, whole house audio distribution (alongside Nuvo or Russound) and video distribution (using XBOX 360 media center extenders).
Our service team provides computer repair, television repair, audio and video equipment repair, network and internet repair, printer repair, windows operating system repair, virus removal., spyware removal, PC hardware and software fixes, laptop computer repair, iPod / Apple / Mac repair, IT (Information Technolgoy) support and services both in-home / on-site and in-store. We do make house calls and we will come to your home or business to provide these repair and consulting services.
Ed Spencer, the original owner and founder of Ed's TV (now located on Route 309 in Hatfield, PA but now under different management), Spencer Sight and Sound (another home theater and custom audio-video-television business), hdtv4me.com, and justplasma.com alongside his son, Jason Spencer, original owner and founder of Adopt A Tech from Lansdale, PA are now co-owners of the family owned business, The HiTech Life.
